Covered K Vet Clinic is a locally owned mixed-animal veterinary practice dedicated to providing compassionate, reliable care for the animals that matter most to our community. Dr. Wilks Kothmann, DVM
I was born in Lubbock, Texas, and grew up working alongside my brother in my dad’s veterinary clinic. From an early age, I knew caring for animals would be a lifelong calling. After spending a few years at Texas A&M, I went on to earn my Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree from Oklahoma State University in 2021.
While in Stillwater, I met my wife, who later finished pharmacy school at Southwestern Oklahoma State University. During our time in Weatherford, I discovered a passion for alternative medicine while attending Options for Animals Chiropractic School near Kansas City. That experience led me to complete my acupuncture certification through the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society in Albuquerque in 2024.
After Weatherford, we moved to the Lawton area, where I have enjoyed practicing as a relief veterinarian for several clinics in Oklahoma and Texas. I love the variety that mixed animal practice brings and the opportunity to work with both small and large animals. Now, I’m excited to put down roots and serve the Cache community, bringing a blend of traditional and alternative care to the animals and families here.
Dr. Kody Kothmann, DVM:
Dr. Kody Kothmann is pleased to join his brother in establishing Covered K Vet Clinic, serving Cache and the surrounding area. For Dr. Kody, veterinary medicine is a lifelong devotion to caring for animals inspired by his upbringing in father’s veterinary clinic in Lubbock, Texas. He advanced his education by attending Oklahoma State University before completing his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at Texas A&M.
Following his graduation, Dr. Kody honed his skills at the 6666 Ranch in Guthrie, Texas. His work there was comprehensive, encompassing everything from advanced equine reproduction to extensive cattle management, in addition to providing essential small animal wellness care and surgical services to the surrounding rural community. Upon the conclusion of the 2025 breeding season, he chose to relocate with his wife to southwest Oklahoma to settle down. Dr. Kody and his brother, Dr. Wilks, are dedicated to providing exceptional care and look forward to welcoming you and your animals to Covered K Vet Clinic.
